We are still here!!

We were hoping that we could go home today but during the night Sydney's wound started to become infected again. The wound had closed up, but there was more infection that needed to drain out. So the infection built up around the incision and made it very red. Sydney's doctor come in and decided that her wound needed to be opened up again, he gave her some morphine and made the wound longer and deeper to get out all the infection. He also took out one of the sutures that was in her incision that might have been causing the infection. Her wound needs to stay open for the next few days in order for all the infection to drain out. We will most likely be here for another day or more it depends on how the incision looks tomorrow. She hasn't been eating very much today because of the morphine, and she had a really scary episode when her face turned dark blue, and then her face was dusky for awhile after that. Her nurse said we would watch that really closely, we are not sure what was the cause of it but we will be on guard. We can't wait until Sydney is better so that we can come home!!
