Life out of the Hospital
Life is sure different out of the hospital, I am so much more stressed because now all the responsibility of Sydney's care falls on us. It took her a little while to adjust to the new environment, she will sometimes get really fussy and sad and it is all I can do not to burst into tears right along with her. I have stopped trying to nurse her because she just doesn't have the strength to do it yet. She really wants to nurse but when she does she will have episodes of hard breathing and her face will turn purple and you can tell that she is having a harder time breathing, then she is so tired from nursing that she will sleep for hours. Maybe after she has gained more strength we will try to nurse again. She is on oxygen which she will be on for about two weeks, she is connected to a huge oxygen tank and we were given a long fifty foot tube that connects to the tube in her nose so that we can move around as far as the tubing reaches. She still hates the tube in her nose and tries to pull it off when every she is mad and frustrated. In the hospital Sydney figured out that when she was put down in her crib that was when the nurses would come to pick on her, give her I.V.s and to suction her mouth so she really doesn't like to be put down, we are always holding her and if she does get set down she will get this look of panic in her eyes like someone is going to hurt her. So we hold her and love on her all day long and we are all fine with that. Sorry that we have not posted any pictures, I will try to take some and get them posted soon, we have been kind of busy!! Anyway we are so thankful for all of you out there and after we have been home for a couple of days we will start to accept some visitors. So give us a call and if Sydney has been having a good day and you are not sick then maybe you can come visit. Sorry that we can't accept everyone but we really don't want our baby to get sick, even a little cold could send her back into the hospital! Love you!!!!
