Sydney had a chest x-ray early this morning that showed some increased fluid around her lungs, and some other things that need to get looked at closer so the team of doctors decided that they need to go back into the chest and see what was going on with her lungs, they also decided that if everything looked good that they would close her chest a day early. Her left lung had fluid around it and is having decreased function, they are going to watch it and possibly scope her lung to check for mucus plugs. They might also change her ventilator to check for mucus plugs that could be causing the decreased function. They did close her chest and the doctors said that her heart looked very good. They also put in two new central lines in her heart. We just got to go see her and she is doing great. They put a feeding tube in her nose and hopefully we can start her on breast milk by the end of the day!
